One day while my mother and I were enjoying a cup of tea together in North Central
Pennsylvania we got on the subject of Papillons. By this time my Bandit was
approximately 1 year old. My mom commented how much she liked him and had been
thinking of getting her own pap. Next thing you know my mother and I are the proud
owners of 10 Papillons! We do occasionally have pups available. I do not allow pups to
go to their new homes until each particular pup is ready. Each pup is different and some
may need to stay with mom a little longer. The puppies are well socialized as I have 3
daughters that love to play with the pups. I often will see them on the couch watching
T.V. with a pup sleeping in their arms. They are also used to being around my other
Papillons. We also have a cat and a rabbit. I often say Papillons are people pooches,
while my husband says "I haven't met a Papillon that I didn't like!" They are very vesatile,
they are content to lay in your lap and snooze, or go for a walk, and don't forget that
coveted car ride. I researched Papillons for about 2 years prior to starting my search for
my first Papillon puppy. I wanted to learn everything I could. I recently went to my first
dog show and have been bitten by the show bug. My eldest daughter and I plan to
participate in the spring 2009 show. We will be working hard this winter to get ready.
Papillons are believed to have been purebred for nearly 700 years! Papillons have always
been bred for companionship or better known as a lap dog. Papillons are fast becoming
a popular breed, as people are looking for small yet gentle dogs. Papillons are not heavy
barkers, however they do make good watch dogs and will alert you to any visitors.
